Display your Roscas in boxes fit for kings! El Día de los Reyes (Three King’s Day) is the day when the three kings, or three Magi, of the Bible arrive to worship and bring gifts to the baby Jesus. A rosca, which is a sweet type of bread made with orange blossoms, water, and butter and decorated with candied fruit, is served as part of the family’s celebration. Baked inside is a small doll representing the baby Jesus. In Mexico, the person who finds the doll in his piece of rosca must throw a party on February 2, Candelaria Day, offering tamales and atole to the guests. Today, the holiday is widely celebrated throughout the United States, particularly in Hispanic communities.
